Max jest posłusznym niedźwiedziem, który całe życie spędził w cyrku. Między blaskiem reflektorów a ciemnością kulis ujawnia okrucieństwo swojego pana Harveya i cierpienie Tiny, cyrkowej gwiazdy, którą potajemnie kocha. Kiedy rozpacz popycha Tinę do buntu na scenie, cała trójka zostaje doprowadzona do ostateczności i nieuchronnego końca. 

Sztuka lalkowa bez słów o marzeniach, koszmarach i zawiedzionych nadziejach.

 

Za kulisami

Imię Max jest hołdem złożonym dla prawdziwego niedźwiedzia o tym imieniu, który przez lata był maskotką przy wejściu do pałacu w mieście Sinaia w Rumunii. Tam był zmuszany do stania na dwóch nogach, aby fotografować się z turystami za opłatą dla osoby, która nim handlowała. Gdy się zestarzał, po latach cierpień, Max został uratowany i – niewidomy i kaleki – trafił do zacisznego gospodarstwa rehabilitacyjnego w górach Zarnesti, gdzie zaznał spokoju i zakończył swoje życie.

 

 

Max is an obedient bear who has lived all his life in the circus. Between the glory of the limelight and the darkness of the backstage, he reveals the cruelty of his master Harvey and the suffering of Tina, the star of the show whom he secretly loves. When Tina's despair pushes her to rebel on stage, the three are led to their last act and to the inevitable end.
A non-verbal puppetry play about dreams, nightmares and broken hopes.

Behind the Scenes
Max's name is a tribute to a real bear named Max, who was kept for years as a pet at the entrance to a palace in the city of Sinaia in Romania. He was forced to stand on two legs to be photographed with tourists for a fee to the person who traded in him. As he became old, after years of suffering, Max was rescued, blind and crippled, and was taken for rehabilitation. He ended his life in a quiet rehabilitation farm in the mountains of Zarnesti, where he gained some peace.
