"Hamlet"
zajmuje ważne miejsce w repertuarze Lit Moon Theatre Company. Spektakl został
stworzony w 2001 r. w kooperacji z praskim scenografem Milonem Kalisem, z
którym Teatr współpracował od 2000 r. aż do jego tragicznej śmierci w 2006 r.
Przedstawienie cieszy się uznaniem zarówno amerykańskiej jak i międzynarodowej
publiczności. "Hamlet" był dotychczas prezentowany m.in. podczas Festiwalu
Szekspirowskiego w Gdańsku, Festiwalu "Wildeside" w Montrealu (Kanada)
czy Festiwalu Szekspirowskiego w Bitoli (Macedonia).
Spektakl
prezentuje wiele charakterystycznych dla grupy elementów, w tym m.in.: fizyczne
podejście do gry aktorskiej, radykalną dramaturgię w klasycznym tekście, kładzie
mocny nacisk na wizualną stronę utworu Szekspira. Głównym elementem spektaklu
jest scenografia stworzona z papieru – symbolizującego membranę oddzielającą
życie od śmierci - która staje się jednym z uczestników akcji. Początkowo
papier jest biały i czysty – na koniec zaś…

Lit Moon’s "Hamlet" has occupied central place in its repertory, on and
off, since 2001. The show was conceived with Prague-based scenographer Milon
Kalis, with whom the company worked consistently during the early 2000’s, until
his tragic and untimely death in 2006.
It enjoys both local and international recognition, and has been played at
numerous Lit Moon festivals, the International Festival at the National Theatre
of China, the Gdansk Shakespeare Festival, the Fireman’s Theatre in Prague, the
Montreal Wildside Festival, the Montreal Fringe (Best Performance), and the
Bitola Shakespeare Festival, among others.
The production displays many of the company’s signature
theatrical elements: a physicalized approach to acting, radical dramaturgy of
classic texts, and a highly visual approach to Shakespeare’s material. Central to the show is its paper scenography,
which creates a membrane between life and death, and becomes a partner to the
play’s action. The paper begins clean
and pure; it ends… well, you will see…
